One Downtown is an office building with strong façade massing compositions which create its unique identity and help create vertically interconnected green spaces.
It has a retail segment of stores and restaurants on its first three levels leading to a corporate club at its fourth and followed by multiple office floors above in varying compositions. The façade is broken into segments appearing as a composition of carefully arranged rectangular blocks over one another and moving inwards and out from the main façade. The resultant recesses create terraces and voids, self-shading large parts of the façade and opening views to the outside.
Mahima Elanza set out to redefine existing practices and notions of residential apartment design in the city. The core design principle of houses placed around courtyard spaces in vertical towers of stepping form gives the development its unique character. This is also accentuated by large multi-leveled voids in the towers that open up sky views at the lower levels and interconnect the gardens.
